SATs Boycott by NAHT & NUT

Not a strike but a refusal to administrate the tests. The NGA has a constantly reviewed Q&A page on their web site. Click here. So too have the BBC and other commentators. Follow our news links on the panel to the left.

Section 88(1A) of the Education Act 2002 requires the governing body to exercise their role in ensuring National Curriculum requirements are implemented and fulfil their duty to ensure that the headteacher ‘complies with their duties. In saying this the regulations recognise the governing body’s strategic role and the headteacher ‘s responsibility for internal organisation and management. Caution is being advised as an array of conflicting views are being expressed.
